by Tristram Tuna, September 1998
I met a dark and beautiful lady.
Her skin was golden and smooth as silk.
Her eyes were clear pools -
The dark, brown water welling from her soul.
I reached out to stroke her shining, black hair
And she dissolved into smoke,
Blowing away on a breeze as if she had never been
And I was left alone as never before.
