Lost in Despair
by
Fadi Ayoub

With those lines that I read somewhere,
I start writing.
With those words that acquiescently reminded me,
Intrepid me I concur,
yet for your love my heart aches,
and my eyes dazzle in despair.
Aghast at the lack of strength, but what about our hearts
Can we ever repair?
Bewilderment, anxious, skittish, even crazy you say.
How to overcome your love and care?

My heart crumbled when you walked away
Shattered like a broken window
And nothing left to spare
Someone else's lines I will use again
Maybe would do you well, since mine caused you nothing….
But pain.
Until then, live your life to its fullest and when you need me,
just whisper my name in your heart
...I will be there
