The Weeping Willow

The Weeping Willow
by
Lauren Kilby
The Weeping Willow, so plain and hollow,
It is so easy to see,
The Weeping Willow, graceful but sorrow,
It is more than a tree,
The Weeping Willow, gone with tomorrow,
The tree now carried away,
The Weeping Willow, some wood I borrowed,
To use for firewood,
Forever lost in ashes,
With the soul burned with it that day.
