My spirit has left
by Tristram Tuna, February 2000
My spirit has left (to Heaven or Hell).
In this world I don't leave very much.
My old, cold body's an empty shell
So kindly just treat it as such.
My life has been filled with places and friends,
I've had luck that I've mostly enjoyed.
There's little I'd change, no urge for amends,
Few regrets as I leave for the void.
Yet fresh in your memories - in you I live on.
At parties recount the good times
And long years from now when you too have gone
I'll still be alive in my rhymes.
