Presence
by Tristram Tuna, March 2000

When you're here there's always sunshine.
When you leave there comes a cloud,
But the day's still bright and the rain is light
And I walk with my head held proud.

When you've gone I wait in darkness
For the glow of the breaking dawn.
With the shrinking night and the first pale light
You arrive and you keep me warm.
