Princes And Frogs
  By
Olgun Sadik

I was sleeping peacefully
Beside a quiet lake
When a slight noise next to me
Made me come awake

Rivets! What I thought I heard
And Rivets! What it said
It came from a rather ugly frog
Very near my head

Remembering the stories
That were told to me
I gave the frog a little kiss
To test its majesty

The frog jumped back, with a look of horror
Etched upon its face
It spat my kiss down to the ground
And left me in disgrace

I never saw that frog again
But I swear up to this day
Whenever I am by that lake
The frogs stay twenty feet away.
