Will There Be Us?

Will There Be Us?
By
Mila Clarke
Just want to
Lie in your arms,
Just want to
See you in the morning,
Gaze up at you
And sense you smiling back.
I wish I'd
Watched you in the sunlight,
I wish I'd
Known your yesterdays,
Understood your silences,
Lost in upturned memory.
It's true that
We have differences,
It's true that
We're not perfect;
Not star cross'd lovers
Or two halves of a jewel.
But I still
Long for you to hold me
And I still
Will for you to love me,
You mean more to me
Than you will ever know.
