Such Freedom Is Dear
By Martin Stuart
Take wing, my love.
Climb high, let your cries echo across the sky.
Soar above us all.
Dazzle us with the sun,
We who watch your grace and dare to wonder.
And when in time you come to roost.
A brief stillness. A quiet calm.
Remember the land that once was yours.
Remember the earth that first gave you life.
Remember the hand that held you close and set you free.
But do not linger,
Your place is in the sky with the sun and the wind.
Seek the heights where the air is clear.
Find the far off vistas beyond imagining.
Such freedom is dear.
Revel! and make us marvel,
We who can only sit and watch and wonder.
